Enhancements include reverb and a master volume, the AC10C1 is the perfect companion for the home, studio or stage. This is exactly what the new edition, the Vox AC10C1 Custom, offers. Now, in 2015, VOX is proud to reintroduce the AC10C1 and provide players with an easy way to enjoy the legendary VOX top boost sound. Long adored for its ability to achieve rich, articulate tube tone at very manageable volumes, the AC10 has become a highly coveted piece of VOX history since it's discontinuation in 1965. The AC10 was one of the first amplifiers to bear the VOX name and was available only for a short period of time in the early 1960s. More portable than the AC15 and more powerful than the AC4, the AC10C1 provides an array of classic VOX tones and comes equipped with studio-quality reverb and a master volume. This enables the preamp to be overdriven while keeping the total level of the amp in check. Gain and Volume Controls - Unlike the original AC-10, the Vox AC10C1 has both gain and volume controls. Tube Complement - The AC10C1 employs two ECC83 preamp tubes and two EL84 output tubes. It's best not to think too much about it and just enjoy the amp's tone. Edge of breakup up through Vox crunch Absolutely The reverb, although, digital, actually pretty decent too. ![]() You can get a little Vox clean out of this, but the clean headroom is relatively limited. Caveat emptor: The AC10's internal circuit makes a Fender Blues Junior circuit look like a HiWatt layout in comparison. The AC10 sounds fantastic for such an inexpensive little amp, if you dig the driven (or at least slightly driven) Vox thing. The AC10C1 is an all-tube 10-watt amplifier that joins VOX's flagship lineup of tube amps, the Custom Series. The JMI Vox AC-10 was a dual channel amp with four inputs. I'm currently waiting for its replacement to arrive from the vendor I purchased from. ![]()
